Osweiler Changes Mind About Playing Hoops at ASU

By Beacon Staff

Arizona State quarterback Brock Osweiler has changed his mind about playing college basketball, again.

The Arizona Republic reports the Kalispell native has decided not to play basketball for the Sun Devils.

He had announced last month that he planned to join the basketball team at the end of the football season, but he decided this week he wants to concentrate on football.

Osweiler led the Sun Devils to wins over UCLA and rival Arizona in the final two games of the season, replacing an injured Steven Threet. Osweiler passed for 380 yards and four TDs against UCLA and helped the team to a 30-29 double overtime win over rival Arizona.

The 6-foot-8 Osweiler had committed to playing basketball at Gonzaga after his freshman season in high school, but changed his mind and decided to play football at ASU.
