Flathead Valley Hockey Association Seeking Players

The Flathead Valley Hockey Association is holding two registration days for its second session, which begins Jan. 3. The registration days are Dec. 15-16 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Woodland Ice Center, Registration information and paperwork is also available during regularly scheduled rink hours. There are opportunities for a wide age range of kids, from those born after 2002 to a U-19 girls league.

Flathead Valley Hockey Association’s current program is recreational, open to girls and boys of all ages and abilities. The program is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey and the philosophy is to ensure that players have fun while improving their skill level. Emphasis is placed on good sportsmanship and equal playing time for all. All levels are scheduled for three hours of dedicated ice time per week (one hour per day, three days per week), generally organized into two sessions of practice time and one session of game/scrimmage time. Any opportunities to host or travel to other rinks for games and/or tournaments are optional and will be organized by team.
