Burning Boxes

By Christie Burns

Monday 12/27

8:45 a.m. Someone hopped into an unlocked Ford Focus, started it with the keys they found inside and stole it from a Kalispell resident.

9:58 a.m. A woman on California Street called in to report her nephew “before he lights the house on fire.” This report is related to a previous complaint about troublemakers burning cardboard boxes in a nearby alley.

11:30 a.m. Two sheds on Columbia Falls Stage were broken into. Their locks were broken, but the owner is currently unaware of what’s missing.

12:20 p.m. Six credit cards were found at the bottom of a windshield cleaner bucket at an Evergreen gas station.

2:42 p.m. A Kalispell man called in to report that a woman he knows has threatened to “call the cops” on him for an unknown reason.

4:03 p.m. A concerned resident on the North Fork Road received creepy text messages from someone saying that they have been watching their house.

6:30 p.m. A Kila man reported having a confrontation with a neighbor kid brandishing a bat that he “shouldered like a rifle.” The neighbor kid agreed that he did indeed have a bat, but denied shouldering it.

10:30 p.m. A woman on Airport Road believes her ex crawled into her home through an unlocked window and stole her computer and a DVD.

1:10 a.m. A barefoot, bloodied and intoxicated boy in Lakeside claimed a girl had pushed him into the snow and that he couldn’t find his friends. A deputy took him to his uncle’s house.
