Columbia Falls’ Thompson Commits to Montana Tech

By Beacon Staff

Nate Thompson, Columbia Falls’ standout senior running back, has committed to play football at Montana Tech in Butte, according to an announcement from Orediggers head coach Chuck Morrell on the school’s athletics website.

Thompson was named first-team all-state at running back this fall after breaking the single-season school record in rushing yards. He was also named second-team all-state at defensive back and is invited to play in the 65th Annual Montana East-West Shrine Game in July.

Coach Morrell praised Thompson in the announcement:

“Nate Thompson is the kind of kid we can win with here at Montana Tech. He brings the combination of academic excellence and athleticism that we look for. We are very excited to have Nate on our squad.”
