POLSON – The Lake County Republican Central Committee says Polson businesswoman Carmine Mowbray has been appointed to fill the Senate vacancy left by the resignation of Sen. Jon Brueggeman of Polson.
Committee Chairman Brent Matson said Thursday that Mowbray is a “rock solid conservative” who will work for small business owners and responsible resource development.
Mowbray previously owned a publishing group and has worked in the timber industry.
The appointment comes nearly three weeks after the legislature convened.
Mowbray was chosen from a second slate of nominees after Lake County commissioners could not reach an agreement on any of the first three nominees.
