By Beacon Staff

HELENA – Rep. James Knox of Billings suffered a heart attack at the Legislature on Friday.

House leadership staff says that Knox is recovering at a Helena hospital and had already spoken to House Speaker Mike Milburn about the situation by Friday evening.

Knox is one of many new freshman Republican legislators swept into office amid support from the conservative tea party movement. He owns a computing business in Billings.

House staff did not say how long Knox is expected to be out.
