DeWit, Mohr Leading League in Scoring and Rebounding

By Beacon Staff

As hard as it is to get at least 10 points and 10 rebounds in a game, let alone to average those numbers over the course of season, Columbia Falls senior Kayla DeWit has managed to maintain a double-double for three straight years.

DeWit’s averages this year are nearly identical to her impressive junior season numbers. She is averaging 19 points and 11.4 rebounds through 10 games. Both are tops in the conference. Last year, she averaged 19.1 points and 11.3 rebounds, both second in the league. As a sophomore, DeWit scored 14 points and grabbed 10.3 rebounds per game.

DeWit, a 6-2 post who has committed to play for Montana State University, has scored exactly as many points – 190 in 10 games – as the entire Whitefish Lady Bulldogs team.

Meanwhile, senior Louis Mohr of Polson is posting comparable numbers for boys. Mohr, like DeWit, leads Northwestern A in both scoring and rebounding at 19.9 and 9.4 per game, respectively.
