A Flathead County sheriff’s deputy has been fined $850 for drunken driving.
Bruce Parish was sentenced Friday by Municipal Judge Heidi Ulbricht. She also ordered him to complete a chemical dependency course.
Parish pleaded no contest to the DUI charge in November. He was cited on Aug. 28 after a report that a transient was struck near a Kalispell bar. Court records say Parish’s blood alcohol level was 0.165 percent.
Ulbricht rejected the claims of a man who said Parish ran over his hand while backing up his truck. A doctor said the man had a swollen left hand, but the injury did not appear consistent with being run over by a vehicle.
Parish said he was glad to have the case behind him.
