By Beacon Staff

Gov. Brian Schweitzer has ordered that flags be flown at half-staff Friday, Saturday and Sunday to honor a 22-year-old Montana soldier who was killed in Afghanistan.

Spc. Jonathan A. Pilgeram of Great Falls died in Konar province on Feb. 17 from wounds he suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small-arms fire. He was based at Fort Campbell, Ky., and was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.

Pilgeram graduated from Centerville High School southeast of Great Falls in 2007.
