Evergreen Man Pleads Not Guilty to Felony Burglary

By Beacon Staff

A 24-year-old Evergreen man who police say smashed into a Kmart store, stole a ski mask to hide his identity after security cameras had already recorded his actions, and was caught in the sporting goods section with a backpack containing nine Sony gaming systems has pleaded not guilty to felony burglary.

Aleksey Sergeyevich Gritsenko made the plea Thursday in district court, the Daily Inter Lake reports.

Police say Gritsenko used a rock to smash a window to get into the store early in the morning on Feb. 2.

He was taken into custody by Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies who responded to the store’s alarm.

Gritsenko is being held in the Flathead County Detention Center on $20,000 bail. A trial is planned for July 11.
