Whitefish Skier to Compete in Junior Olympics

Alpine ski racer Nevada Kramer, a freshman at Whitefish High School, has been selected to compete in the Western Region Junior Olympics in Squaw Valley, Calif., on March 17-20, according to a press release from the Flathead Valley Ski Education Foundation.

Kramer is one of seven boys and 10 girls selected from the Northern Division. The Junior Olympics, the press release states, features the top alpine ski racers in the 13-14 age group. Kramer is competing in all three events – Super G, Giant Slalom and Slalom.

According to the release, Kramer is leading the Northern Division for his age division in World Cup points for the Jim Barrier Gold Cup award. Another Whitefish Mountain Race Team skier, Madeline Williams, is leading in World Cup points for women in the age group of 17-19. Williams and teammate Erin Tabish are competing at the Western Regional Championships.
