The Montana Highway Patrol says a 51-year-old Bigfork woman was found dead in a car that went off Montana 35 east of Kalispell, went down an embankment, collided with a tree and landed on its roof.
The patrol says Elizabeth Hornbuckle was found at about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday by a passing motorist who noticed tire marks.
Trooper Jerril Ren says there were no witnesses to the crash, but it may have occurred as early as noon.
The patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash and Ren says an autopsy is planned.
