Man With Knife in Chest Wanders Into AA Group

By Beacon Staff

BILLINGS – Billings authorities are investigating after a man with a knife sticking out of his chest wandered into an Alcoholics Anonymous group on break.

Police Sgt. Scott Conrad says the man, whose name has not been released, wandered into the parking lot of the AA meetinghouse Monday. Members who were outside taking a break saw the black knife handle sticking out of his chest just below the shoulder, and someone called police.

Conrad says after questioning the man and talking to the doctor who treated him, investigators think the stab wound was self-inflicted.

The Billings Gazette reports the man told police he was a transient but did not offer them much more information.
