UW’s Caires Chosen as MSU Dean of Students

BOZEMAN – Matthew Caires of the University of Wyoming has been selected as Montana State University’s new dean of students.

MSU officials announced Monday that Caires, who is currently assistant dean of students for leadership development at UW, will begin his new job in Montana on Aug. 1. The dean of students is the primary student-life advocate on campus.

Caires will be in charge of improving the overall wellness of students and will direct an office that is a center of student activity, support and information.

He has been at the University of Wyoming since 2001 and has worked in the areas of community service, minority student recruitment and retention, summer orientation, student leadership, student government, and crisis management and emergency response.
