Two men charged with attacking a Hungry Horse man in an attempt to collect an old drug debt have pleaded not guilty to robbery and assault charges.
The Daily Inter Lake reports 23-year-old Joshua Allen Rosalez and 19-year-old Thomas William Rupert entered their pleas Thursday in District Court in Kalispell. Both have been jailed since their arrest on May 4.
The 36-year-old man who reported the assault told deputies that Rupert, Rosalez and another man came to his house and demanded $1,400 on behalf of another man who claimed he was owed money from a drug deal that occurred five years ago.
The man says he was struck on the back of the head with a sawed-off shotgun during the attack.
