Ten Local Softball Players Named All-State

Seven softball players from Northwestern A were named all-state, including three from state champion Polson. The Pirates defeated Frenchtown on May 28 to win their second straight Class A title.

Senior infielder Sallie Sams, senior outfielder Kodi Woods and sophomore pitcher Shalaina Duford of Polson were all honored. Also named to the all-state team from the conference were Libby senior infielders Jaime Gilden and Alysha Martin.

From Columbia Falls, juniors Niki Birky and Shaun Rowe were selected to the Class A all-state team.

In Class AA, senior catcher Brittany Franklin and senior outfielder Baylee Quay of Glacier were named all-state, along with Flathead’s Sidney Alberts, a sophomore utility player.
