UPDATED: Student Charged With Distributing Pot Brownies at Graduation Party

By Beacon Staff

A 17-year-old male was arrested and charged Saturday night with criminal distribution of dangerous drugs at the all-night Crosstown Craze graduation party held at The Summit in Kalispell.

At approximately 11 p.m., Officer Jason Parce responded to the report of a sick minor. When he approached the male he was extremely nauseous and paranoid. A girl nearby, who was suffering from similar ailments, confirmed that they had consumed marijuana brownies in the parking lot prior to entering the party.

In all there were seven minors – six males and one female, all age 17 – that had consumed the brownies at the party being held for graduates of Glacier and Flathead high schools, according to Parce. Medical personnel came to the scene to check on some of the students, although one quickly left the scene and drove away. None of the other students went to the hospital and were taken home by their parents.

The male who made the brownies was arrested and charged with criminal distribution of dangerous drugs but did not go to jail. Because of his age he will be charged in youth court.

Editor’s Note: This story has been changed to reflect the correct number of minors who consumed the pot brownies.
