Former Polson Woman Pleads Guilty in Fatal Crash

By Beacon Staff

POLSON – A former Polson woman has pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide while under the influence for a December 2008 car crash that killed her passenger.

KERR-AM reports 34-year-old Jana Marie Baker entered her guilty plea Wednesday in the death of Shari Ann Tiger of Missoula.

Court records say another motorist had called law enforcement to report that Baker as a possible drunken driver when her car crossed the center line and struck another vehicle. Both people in the other vehicle were hurt.

District Judge C.B. McNeil scheduled Baker’s sentencing for July 20. A plea agreement calls for a recommendation of 10 years with the Department of Corrections with five suspended.
