For the past three months, organizers have been working hard to prepare for a large fundraising event to benefit the Kalispell Lakers’ American Legion Baseball program. On Saturday, their hard work will be on display.
The first annual “Barn Party” will be held from 2 p.m. to midnight on June 25 at 1441 Swan Ridge Road in Columbia Falls. The event features a kids’ carnival followed by a pig roast and barbecue. Among the other events scheduled are a live auction, wiffleball tourney, volleyball, line dancing, pony rides, karaoke, a coaches’ dunk tank, bocce ball, horse shoes, a hula hoop contest and more.
It should be a blast and it sounds like the weather is going to cooperate as well.
Tickets are $10 per person and $25 for a family of five members or fewer. Fundraising events are vital for the Lakers, as proceeds from game ticket sales and sponsorships account for only about half of the program’s operating costs.
