By Beacon Staff

MISSOULA – A Canadian man has died after his motorcycle crossed the centerline of Montana Highway 83 south of Seeley Lake and struck an oncoming pickup truck.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Richard Salois says the man, whose name has not been released, was headed south when he sideswiped the pickup at about 1:15 p.m. Friday, causing the bike to flip end over end.

The man was flown to a Missoula hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Salois tells the Missoulian it is unclear why the man crossed the centerline or if alcohol played a role.
