The Montana Judicial Standards Commission has dismissed an ethics complaint filed against Whitefish Municipal Judge Bradley Johnson.
Resident Cynthia Howell filed her complaint against Johnson after she confronted the judge in July 2010 at the Columbia Falls Post Office parking lot. She said she told the judge to slow down on city streets. Johnson denies he was speeding.
Howell contended Johnson reached into her vehicle, which Johnson denies.
Howell was cited for disorderly conduct, but the charge was later dismissed.
Howell had accused the judge of unethical conduct and “ballistic” behavior.
Commission chairman Ed McLean sent a letter on July 21 saying the panel would not pursue the complaint. McLean, a Missoula judge, says in his letter that both parties acted immaturely.
