Field & Stream magazine recently honored Flathead Valley-based Montana Rifle Company with a national award, naming the company’s America Standard Rifle (ASR) the best new rifle in the annual “Best of the Best” awards. The “Best of the Best” awards are given to the top products in the “hunting, shooting and related outdoor” industries, according to a press release from Field & Stream.
“The winning products not only withstood our tough testing, but they stood head and shoulders above the rest,” the magazine’s deputy editor, Slaton White, said in the release, adding that the “Best of the “Best” awards are “the highest honor Field & Stream bestows on gear.”
I’ve written about the Montana Rifle Company before. Led by the father-son tandem of Brian and Jeff Sipe, the company has come along way since its humble beginnings when Brian Sipe started making gun barrels in the 1990s. This award is just more proof that the Sipes know how to make a quality rifle. It’s good to see them getting this kind of recognition.
