NorthWestern Energy has reached a settlement in two more lawsuits filed after a March 2009 natural gas explosion that destroyed half a block of East Main Street and killed a woman.
NorthWestern reached settlements on Tuesday with the owner of the Rocking R Bar and the owner of a building rented by the Montana Trails Gallery, where 36-year-old Tara Bowman died.
NorthWestern spokeswoman Susan Malee declined to comment on the terms of the settlements. The Chronicle was unable to reach the attorneys for the two plaintiffs.
Malee says nine lawsuits relating to the natural gas explosion remain pending.
NorthWestern is scheduled to complete work this month on a $250,000 project to increase the number of shut off valves in downtown Bozeman’s natural gas system.
