High School Runner Dies After Collapsing at Race

BILLINGS – A hospital official says a 15-year-old cross country runner who collapsed at the State A cross country meet Oct. 22 has died.

Spokeswoman JoAnn Hoven says Seamus Camp died Friday at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.

The Park High School student in Livingston collapsed during the 3-mile race at the University of Montana Golf Course in Missoula.

Emergency responders performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Camp on the course before taking him to St. Patrick Hospital.

Park High cross-country coach Kirk Lentz says Camp was a bright student dedicated to the sport and the team.
