By Beacon Staff

GREAT FALLS — An eighth grader at East Middle School in Great Falls is facing a felony charge after fellow students reported he brought an air gun to school to threaten another student.

Police Sgt. Bryan Slavik says the boy was turned in to school authorities by other students after he showed them the gun on the school bus.

Slavik says the boy made threats to other students and told students on the bus he planned on scaring another student with the rifle.

The 14-year-old was arrested Thursday and charged with felony intimidation and misdemeanor possession of a firearm on school grounds and disorderly conduct. He was booked at the Juvenile Detention Center and was scheduled to appear in Youth Court on Friday.

The student has been suspended from school
