By Beacon Staff

Authorities have identified the elderly Kalispell woman who died in a collision with a Suburban on Thursday afternoon at the intersection of West Center Street and Second Avenue West.

Luella Scott, 94, was attempting to cross West Center Street when she was struck by the vehicle, according to Sheriff Chuck Curry. She died of traumatic injuries sustained in the crash.

Kalispell Police Chief Roger Nasset said the adult male driver has been “very cooperative” throughout the investigation and has been released without charges, pending test results. KPD is still in the process of investigating the cause of the crash, and is working with multiple witnesses.

Once the investigation is completed, it will be forwarded to the Flathead County Attorney’s Office for review.
