Dogs Euthanized After Attacking Girl in Creston

The director of the animal shelter in Kalispell says four American Bulldogs that attacked and injured a 7-year-old girl have been euthanized.

Flathead County Animal Shelter Director Cliff Bennett says he received approval to put the animals down on Tuesday and they were euthanized Wednesday morning.

The girl sustained extensive injuries in the attack in Creston on Saturday. She was listed in stable condition Wednesday at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Sheriff Chuck Curry says the dogs were labeled as vicious animals because of the attack and because they posed a threat to the public in the future.

Curry says his office has completed its investigation and turned the case over to County Attorney Ed Corrigan for possible charges against the dogs’ owners.
