Shopko Stores Merging with Pamida

HELENA – Shopko Stores and Pamida are merging, with the Pamida stores being rebranded as Shopko Hometown.

The companies announced the merger Wednesday.

Shopko has 149 stores in 13 states with annual revenues of $2 billion while Pamida has 193 stores in 17 states with annual revenues of about $1 billion. The company headquarters will be in Green Bay, Wis.

The company says there will be no changes to the Shopko stores, but $80 million will be invested over the next year to convert most of Pamida’s locations to the Shopko Hometown stores.

Shopko has stores in Billings, Great Falls, Helena, Kalispell and Missoula while Pamida has stores in Glasgow, Sidney, Hardin, Plentywood, Shelby, Lewistown, Livingston, Libby, and pharmacies in Roundup, Dillon, Big Timber and Eureka.
