MISSOULA –Missoula County prosecutors allege University of Montana football player Beau Donaldson raped a female acquaintance while she slept on his couch after drinking alcohol at a house party in September 2010.

Donaldson was arrested Friday and jailed on $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Justice Court Monday afternoon on a felony rape charge.

UM Vice President Jim Foley said Monday Donaldson has been suspended from the team indefinitely.

An affidavit filed in support of the charges says Donaldson acknowledged the allegations in a telephone conversation with the woman last month. Missoula police were monitoring the call.

Donaldson, a 2008 graduate of Missoula Big Sky High School, missed the 2010 season at UM with a leg injury. He played mostly on special teams last fall before being injured late in the season.
