Local Ski Teams Finding Success on the Slopes

By Beacon Staff

The local Whitefish Mountain Resort Ski Team had an impressive showing at the first Junior Olympic qualifying event of the season at Big Mountain recently.

Whitefish skier Nevada Cramer won the 15-16 year-old division of the giant slalom competition and placed third in the slalom. Madeline Williams took second in the 17-19 division for slalom and third in giant slalom. Erin Tabish placed third in giant slalom and fourth in slalom. Complete results are below.

The event was one of the state’s qualifiers for the Western Region’s Junior Olympics at Big Sky and Bridger in Bozeman.

Two Nordic ski teams, the Glacier Nordic Ski Team and North Shore Nordic Ski Team, have been competing with success this winter as well. The teams have two races, Friday and Saturday, and results can be found at summittiming.com.
