The Whitefish Mountain Resort Freestyle ski and snowboard team was busy showcasing its talents amid the festivities of last weekend’s Whitefish Winter Carnival.
The talented crew earned a total of six top three-places in the rail jam competitions at the second Night Riders Park Series of the winter on Saturday. This team has several talented members who are rising on the freestyle competition circuit.
Here’s the rundown from last weekend from Riley Polumbus at Big Mountain:
The rail jam featured two half hour “jam sessions,” one for each snowboarder and skier. The format of the jam was to hit as many features as possible in the allotted time. Competitors were judged on difficulty, skill and variety by a panel of three judges.
The Whitefish Mountain Resort Freestyle team once again took home numerous podium finishes with Dylan Schneider and Jack Lam (1st & 2nd Grom Ski), Maggie Voisin (1st, Women Ski), Kyle Thomsen (3rd, Mens Amateur Board), Parkin Costain (3rd, Open Ski) and Cole Maxwell (2nd, Open Snowboard).
The finale of the Night Riders Series takes place Saturday, Feb. 11 with a slopestyle event. Points are awarded at each event and there is a $1,200 cash purse for the overall series winners in the Open class.
