Maintain Vibrancy of Whitefish, Support School

By Beacon Staff

I have been following the issue of building a new high school in Whitefish. I, along with my wife, have been part-time residents of Whitefish for almost 20 years. Our permanent residence is in Claremont, Calif. We were pleased to see the support of a new high school by the city council. Although we can’t vote, we still pay taxes that support local schools. We have found that a strong school system with improved facilities is one of the best ways to encourage the continued influx of young families and to maintain (and hopefully increase) property values.

The minimal cost of supporting the local high school bond issue is one of the simplest ways to maintain the property values and vibrancy of Whitefish. Communities throughout the country that have best been able to maintain this desirable vibrancy as well as property values are those that have quality school systems and school facilities.
