Six young members of the Whitefish Mountain Resort ski team competed this past weekend in a GS/Super G event at Bridger Bowl. The races were part of the USSA Northern Division Junior Olympic Qualifier Series.
Among a field of 150 racers competing in three separate, one-run races, our local talent earned six podium finishes and three top 10 finishes.
“In the 30-plus years that I have been coaching, never I have seen more improvement from a team of athletes,” coach Roy Loman said in a press release. “Our group was so able to focus on what they needed to do to move to the next level; and we saw that work in their improvement for every individual on the team. It is seldom that you get that kind of focus and execution from an entire group.”
The team’s next scheduled races will be at Great Divide and Discovery followed by the season finale championships held at Whitefish Mountain Resort March 23-25.
