The finals for the World Class Bucking Horse Association will be held in Kalispell in October.
The WCBHA announced Thursday the World Finals Event is scheduled for Oct. 27 at Majestic Valley Arena.
The event will feature some of the best cowboys in the country and the top 45 horses that qualified in previous bucking horse competitions. Finals awards will be given to breeders and cowboys along with year-end honors for top breeder, top remuda, top cowboy and the WCBHA’s toughest bronc rider.
Officials with the association cited the Flathead Valley’s history of supporting equine events as a reason for choosing Kalispell.
“The Kalispell community has really gotten behind the event and made our decision easy to bring the event to Northwestern Montana which provides the perfect setting for the top bucking horse event in the country,” said Bob Pecora, WCBHA executive director.
A futurity event will also be held in Kalispell, May 4-5, and will feature some of the best bucking horses in North America, a news release said.
“The Finals are a great addition to our event programs and we look forward to a long relationship with the WCBHA,” said Rob Brisendine with the Kalispell Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Multiple bucking horse futurity events will take place in Wyoming, Montana and North Dakota this year as cowboys try to qualify for the finals in Kalispell in October.
