A 29-year-old Kalispell man has been charged with assault with a weapon after a late-night altercation in a parking lot involving a gun.
According to a statement from the Kalispell Police Department, two people were talking in the Paddy’s Touchdown Lounge parking lot on March 15 at nearly midnight when they were approached by Andrew Dixon Peterson.
Investigators say Peterson and the two people got into an argument, and the victims asked him to leave. After this request, Peterson allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at them.
One of the victims was able to tackle and restrain Peterson, while the other collected the gun. Then, they went back inside and called 911.
Peterson also called 911, reporting that he was assaulted by two men in the parking lot. He was taken to the Kalispell Police Department, where he was interviewed and charged with assault with a weapon. Peterson was then taken to the Flathead County Detention Center.
