Lincoln County officials have released the name of a man whose body was found in a minivan on a Forest Service road in the lower part of the Yaak River area last weekend.
Sheriff Robby Bowe says officials are investigating the death of 69-year-old Ernest Cleon Judd of Libby as a homicide. An autopsy determined he died of blunt force trauma.
Judd’s body was found Sunday afternoon.
The state Sexual or Violent Offenders Registry lists Judd as a tier 2 registered sex offender who was convicted in 2006 of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl the year before.
Bowe says there is no indication that Judd’s criminal history had anything to do with his death.
