Lincoln County officials say a 2-year-old boy died after falling into a partially frozen pond near his northwestern Montana home.
Sheriff Roby Bowe says the boy’s family pulled him out of the frozen pond at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, about two hours after his grandmother reported him missing and about four hours after he was last seen.
Family members performed CPR on the unresponsive boy until emergency responders arrived. He was flown to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8 p.m.
His name has not been released.
