Seeley Lake Girl’s Death Ruled Accidental Drowning

SEELEY LAKE – Missoula County officials say the death of a 2 1/2-year-old Seeley Lake girl last week was an accidental drowning.

Pearl Butler wandered away from her home at about 2:45 p.m. Friday. Her family reported her missing at 3:30 p.m. and a deputy found her unconscious in a creek about an hour later.

Efforts to revive the girl were unsuccessful. She was declared dead at a Missoula hospital at 10 p.m. Friday.
