HELENA – Attorney General Steve Bullock continues to top former congressman Rick Hill in early fundraising as the pair battle in the governor’s race.
The Bullock campaign says the Democrat raised nearly $200,000 over the past month. Hill, a Republican, reports raising $55,000 in the latest fundraising reports.
Both campaigns began raising money in earnest after the state’s primary earlier this month as they gear up for the general election.
Bullock has a clear advantage with nearly $800,000 in the bank.
Hill, who last ran for statewide office in his successful 1998 re-election to the U.S. House, holds just $118,000 after clearing a bruising primary battle where he was forced to fight off criticism from fellow Republicans.
