New Flathead Coach Tabs Renowned New Jersey Coach for Wrestling Camp

By Beacon Staff

Flathead High School’s new wrestling coach has organized a five-day summer camp featuring one of the all-time great high school wrestling coaches.

Scot Davis, who is taking over the Braves wrestling program, is leading a technique camp for any interested wrestlers in grades K-12. The camp is July 25-29 at Flathead High’s gym.

Davis is welcoming Jeff Buxton, a 10-time National Coach of the Year from Blair Academy in New Jersey. Buxton has coached 28 national prep champions, two Olympians and numerous NCAA national champions and All-Americans.

Also in attendance will be Rich Vasquez and Chris Lembeck, the new assistant coaches at Flathead, Derek Skala, an NCAA II National Champion last year, and former Flathead coach Jeff Thompson.

The camp will focus on technique only and will feature two two-hour sessions a day.
