Bigfork Museum Hosts ‘Saddle Up And Paint’

By Beacon Staff

The Bigfork Museum of Art and History and some of the area’s most prominent artists are gearing up for the sixth annual “Saddle Up and Paint” event. For three days, starting on July 17, painters head for the lower valley and record scenic vistas, from yellow fields of canola to old barns. After the paint dries, the art is unveiled at the Flathead Lake Lodge’s Elk Ranch in Bigfork during a dinner and art sale on Friday, July 20.

Locals will be able to head to the museum in Bigfork to grab a map and find the artists and see them as they work. Artists include Thomas Lewis, Julie Wulf, Nicholas Oberling and Linda Ensign, just to name a few. All of the artists will be available to talk about their work and answer questions about their technique.

On Friday, all of the paintings will be on display at the Elk Ranch. A pitchfork fondue dinner is available and tickets are $25 for members and $30 for non-members. All proceeds benefit the Bigfork Museum of Art and History.
