EXPLORE: Middle Fork of the Flathead River

By Beacon Staff

Starting deep in the wilderness and stretching for 92 miles, the Middle Fork of the Flathead River runs along the southern boundary of Glacier National Park. Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor lovers to get out and explore the stunning territory.

For the more adventurous, the river also hosts Class II and III rapids that can give whitewater rafters an exhilarating, ride. Those who enjoy fly fishing can either set out on their own or hire a local guide to find the best spots.
