HELENA – Republican congressional hopeful Steve Daines reports raising about $240,000 in the latest campaign finance quarter.
The Bozeman businessman maintains a large money advantage over Democratic candidate Kim Gillan.
Gillan is a state senator from Billings who spent much of the $300,000 she raised during the primary season fending off several challengers for the nomination.
Gillan reports raising about $136,000 in the most recent quarter and holding $88,000 in the bank. Daines cruised to the GOP nomination and reports having about $850,000 heading into the general election battle.
Daines is running on a platform critical of Obama administration policies. Gillan is running on a promise to provide pragmatic, bipartisan solutions.
U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg is leaving the seat to challenge U.S. Sen. Jon Tester.
