New Aerial Adventure Park Opens at Whitefish Mountain Resort

By Beacon Staff

Climb, pull, balance and zip-line your way through Montana’s first aerial park, which opened at Whitefish Mountain Resort on July 28.

Located just above the Base Lodge between the Chipmunk and Huckleberry Patch runs, the aerial park features five courses – ranging in difficulty – with 10 to 15 “elements” on each course.

Developed and constructed by Outdoor Ventures Group out of Connecticut, elements include suspended bridges, cable walkways, nets, ladders, trapezes, tube traverses, zip lines and barrels, to name a few. The park is built to meet the standards of the Association of Challenge Course Technology.

With the purchase of a ticket and after a 15-20 minute orientation, participants outfitted in full-body harnesses are allotted two hours to navigate their chosen treetop courses 10-50 feet off the ground.

Participants traverse each course independently and can only move to more advanced courses by successfully completing the prior one. The courses are open to ages 7 and up.

“It definitely gets harder,” Jon Zimbelman said as he progressed to the more advanced routes.

Tickets are $35 for adults and $24 for ages 12 and under. Visit skiwhitefish.com for more information.
