WEST GLACIER – Authorities at Glacier National Park say they are scaling back the search for a missing hiker from Michigan.
In a statement Sunday officials say no new clues have been found in the search for 19-year-old Jakson Kreiser of Hudsonville, Mich. The search began July 29 after he failed to return from a hike a day earlier. He’s a seasonal employee at Lake McDonald Lodge.
Park officials say boot tracks led searchers on Saturday into an area with ledges and waterfalls in the Floral Park and Avalanche Basin areas. Technical climbing teams and a helicopter took part in the search.
Incident Commander Scott Emmerich says all clues have been investigated, but he hopes additional clues will be found to renew an active search effort.
