Kevin Denney broke the track record in last Saturday’s Lucas Oil Super Stock division at Montana Raceway Park. Denney set the new record of 13.574 for timing, making it the fastest ever at Montana Raceway Park.
Casey Brandt took the B dash and Micah Sampson claimed the A dash. In the B heat, Bruce Stinger took the win and Tyler Corpron edged Scott Lee in the A heat.
In the main event, Micah Sampson held on for the victory over Tylor Schweigert and Adam Kinkel. The leader in the points race, Brandon Sickler, had his night cut short after he tangled with Corey Reum on lap 33. Sickler continues to lead the points chase by 34 over Tyler Corpron.
In other action, Keith Sheppard set fast time in the Hornet division. CJ Frahm claimed the trophy dash. Sheppard edged Josh Thomas for the heat race win. In the main event Sheppard cruised to the winner’s circle. With two races remaining this season, Sheppard has chipped away at Krause’s lead and the point difference between the two is 10 points coming out of the weekend.
In the Bomber division, Chris Warburton set fast time for the night. Troy Pilgram came away with the trophy dash win and edged Warburton to win the heat race. In the main event Warburton came away victorious and widened his points lead to 51 over Zack Mongan.
The Scaled Late Models hit the track for the first time this season. Trayton Tarr took fast time for the class. Troy Vandenbilche claimed the B dash and Nicole Behar beat out Tarr for the A dash. Vandenbilche and Tarr battled in the heat race, in the end Vandenbilche won. In the main event Tarr won the checkers followed by Behar and Mike Hilliker.
There are three events remaining this season. This weekend Montana Raceway Park is featuring the Labor Day Spectacular featuring the Don K Hobby Stock 75, Lucas Oil Super Stocks, CHS Legends and Bandoleros. Time trials begin at 6 p.m. and racing kicks off at 7 p.m.
