Lake County Jailer on Leave After DUI Citation

POLSON – A Lake County detention officer has been placed on administrative leave after being charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a weekend crash.

Undersheriff Dan Yonkin says that Matthew Walker was cited for three misdemeanors after the Saturday night crash on U.S. Highway 93 near Jette Lake.

Dispatchers received several calls about a two-vehicle crash at about 10:15 p.m., but Yonkin says when officers arrived, only one vehicle was at the site. Walker was located later.

Sheriff Jay Doyle placed Walker on administrative leave pending the outcome of the charges.
