Fundraising Expert to Give Talk in Kalispell

By Beacon Staff

David Mirisch has a few sayings he likes to pass on to clients. “Having fun while raising funds” is one of them.

Since the 1970s, Mirisch has helped organize more than 2,500 events and raised more the $35 million for non-profits across the country. He calls his company, David Mirisch Enterprises, the country’s premier producer of celebrity fundraisers.

On Sept. 13, Mirisch will host a presentation for Flathead Valley nonprofit groups to learn about organizing successful fundraisers. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. at The Museum at Central School in Kalispell.

“I think everyone will walk away with useful information that will benefit their nonprofit,” Mirisch said.

Mirisch has hosted events across the United States and in seven countries. Many of his events include celebrity appearances and Mirisch is able to use his southern California ties to attract them. He said the stars are never paid, but their expenses are covered.

One recent event Mirisch organized was the Wounded Warriors golf tournament at the Meadow Lake Golf Club. He also helped bring in Olympic Gold Medal cyclist Steve Hegg, who is taking part in the Huckleberry 100 on Sept. 15.

The event is organized by the Nonprofit Development Partnership in conjunction with the Kalispell and Whitefish chambers of commerce. For more information about Mirisch’s company visit www.dmirisch.com.
