On Sept. 11, members of the Blackfeet Tribal Business Council broke ground on a new Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Browning. The 86-room hotel is expected to open in the summer of 2013.
The new hotel is owned by the Blackfeet Tribe and is located near the Glacier Peaks Casino in Browning. The building was designed by The Worth Group of Denver and is being constructed by Swank Enterprises of Kalispell.
“The business combination of a casino and a hotel is considered in Indian Country to be a sure bet,” wrote tribal spokesperson Roxanne DeMarce in a press release. “It has worked great in other parts of the United States and no doubt will be a winning combination in Browning.”
Along with 86 rooms, the new hotel will feature an indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi and 1,200-square-foot conference room. According to DeMarce, the hotel will provide good, full-time jobs throughout the construction and operation of the hotel.
