Flathead Unemployment Rate Holds Steady

Flathead County’s non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held steady at 7.9 percent in August.

While the mark is the same as a month prior, it is 2.3 percentage points lower than the same month last year, according to the Montana Department of Labor and Industry.

Meanwhile, Montana’s seasonally adjusted jobless rate dropped slightly in August to 6.3 percent from 6.4 percent the previous month. Sanders County has the highest rate in the state at 12 percent. Fallon County in eastern Montana has the lowest rate at 1.8 percent.

The national unemployment rate is 8.1 percent.
